Sixth Extinction by Patricia Watwood
My name is Faith. I am a seeker, a wordsmith, and a storyteller who has dedicated her life to awakening souls. I play with the sound, texture, and intention of words to invite moments of immense presence and humanity. The result is sensational, self-aware, and dualistic wordplay that bridges the philosophical gap between Eastern and Western Traditions falling somewhere in between poetry and prose.
I was born in Harlem, steeped in culture and history. I noticed from a young age that the arts were everywhere, in everything, in every moment. The arts quickly became a place of healing and invention where I could catalog, experience, and express the full breadth of life. I love literature: The Beats, Theatre of the Absurdists, French Poets, like Baudelaire, and Rimbaud. Poetry called to me. It became my source to touch the depths of my soul, explore the power of my voice, and spark magic through my stream of consciousness.
A graduate of New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, I created and defended my concentration: Celebrate Multiplicity Reintegrating the Self through Creative Presence—a practical, philosophical, psychological, and historical investigation into the split self and holistic methods of healing through the presence of the arts. At Gallatin, I cultivated an interdisciplinary lens that energizes narratives across the spectrum. I thrive on conversation and collaboration. I've dedicated my life to helping others to fully realize their visions, attain their creative goals, and seize their highest potential.
Forever seeking the soul of it all, I am an advocate for artistic expression as a basic human need. The arts have always been a place of healing, transformation, and invention, where I can experience and express the full breadth of life. They have allowed me to invoke my authentic voice and cultivate my innate wisdom. I can revel in liberated expression and connect to the magic of quotidian existence.

Celebrating my multiplicity, I have walked many paths in life and sampled many roles along the way. Some have stuck, and others were merely a season and exploration of possibility. I have been a Matri D, an Actor, a Model, a Teacher, a Manager, and a Stylist. I’ve worked in real estate, non-profits, publishing, hospitality, performance, film, theater, commercial, retail, and events. It has made me a versatile asset invested wholeheartedly in every project, in every collaboration.
In 2015, I co-wrote a show titled 'Root of Water' performed at the Alchemical Theater in New York City. Since then, my poetry has been published in online publications (Blackmail Reader, Digging Through the Fat, WNYC) and a print literary magazine tNY (a.k.a. the Newer York). I’ve performed in bars and parks, at theaters and concert venues, on rooftops and the radio, accompanied by dance, music, painting, film, even live illustration. From 2016 to 2019, I was a Full-Time Artist-in-Residence at the Byrdcliffe Art Colony in Woodstock, New York. In 2020, I launched a fundraising campaign, amassing over $20,000 to produce my first book.

Five years ago, I embarked on a new destiny as a Mother. I now have two magical kiddos and embrace a life of tremendous presence and intense growth. I am currently an Editor at Do It For the Cocktail Culture, collaborating on a NYC Black History book. I am world-building a series, writing a novel, sketching out a few children's book ideas, and rededicating myself to the catharsis of poetry. I am also creating a curriculum about Self Knowledge and Identity Formation rooted in the creative arts, inspired by my original course of study, which began 23 years ago– seeking to touch the divine in my earthliness and dance in the duality of existence.
