I have died a thousand times
I have died a thousand times
I have died a thousand times
still haven’t learnt my lesson.
the I holds limit only as the “I” limits it
AND IT is infinite
I have many faces not all of which you see
I am the end and the beginning
the echo of my echo
the primary stroke
I am not of this earth
rivers run through me— these limbs aren’t mine
I am mud of ancient stardust fossilized
I am ethereal ether suffocated by polluted atmosphere
I am the sun shower you prayed for
the sunset carved by your trillionth exhale
the cloudless sky
the rage of the howling wolves who come to hunt
the wrinkles of the oak trees
energy neither created nor destroyed
inexorably linked
Yet the muddy stars protest me
they mock me
So I become the storm
I brew thunder
I sculpt lightning
I churn eternal
to revive the senses
too much energy to burn
I shall be reborn again
the sun is calling: watch me set fire
